Workac and Zhubo won an invited competition to redesign a 1 kilometer section of popular shopping destination Hua Qiang Bei road in Shenzen, China. They took the idea of the 3D street and created 5 iconic “lanterns”, which are essentially overpasses that contain special destination of public programs such as an electronics museum, information hub, fashion and design museum and an elevated public park.

There are also underground connective spaces that provide public amenities such as a public library, food court and gallery space and also connects the new metro lines.

I think the design is neat and the concepts are great, but it seems like it’ll be really expensive to implement.
